Are online courses shown duty - Essay Example One of the territories where it has applied extraordinary changes is in training whereby, taking in movement has changed from progressively intelligent up close and personal figuring out how to a less intuitive internet learning condition likewise alluded to as e-learning (Sandel, 2007). This type of preparing is picking up prevalence over the globe because of expanding utilization of web and need to smooth out the progression of data in all areas of the economy. This has come about to student’s dependence on PC from their own places of comfort rather than study hall culture where understudies collaborate with their instructors and their partners (Tait, 2003). Be that as it may, this methodology of instructing has raised worry of profound quality with respect to the ability and reasonableness of online instructional exercises in satisfying the pith of figuring out how to the understudies. This framework may in any case drawback a few students who may need access to online inst ructional exercises because of significant expense of association and different materials (Howar, Schenk, and Discenza, 2004). This examination will concentrate on various good principles to survey the proficiency of web based instructing to the separation students. Training ought to add to fairness of all understudies from different foundations by making it accessible and moderate to all. â€Å"Utilitarianism hypothesis of ethics,† expects people to kmake their own choices dependent on what they think about best for them (Sandel, 2007). Consequently, people can picked among on the web and study hall approach depending which technique will fulfill their requirements best. Electronic learning offers balance to numerous families rather than customary techniques for going to their examinations in a study hall (Bates, 2005). This is on the grounds that all understudies face equivalent treatment if there should arise an occurrence of web based learning and isn't one-sided contrasted with up close and personal realizing where understudies go to various learning foundations dependent on their societal position (Tait, 2003). In any case, this may end up being distant by certain understudies who can't stand to pay for the administrations. Generally,

Drug Abuse in Canada :: Drug Abuse, Substance Abuse

Medication Abuse in Canada Presentation Medication use and misuse is as old as humanity itself. Individuals have consistently wanted to eat or drink substances that cause them to feel loose, animated, or euphoric. Wine was utilized at any rate from the hour of the early Egyptians; opiates from 4000 B.C.; and therapeutic utilization of maryjane has been dated to 2737 B.C. in China. In any case, it was not until the nineteenth century that the dynamic substances in drugs were separated. There was a period in history when a portion of these newfound substances, for example, morphine, laudanum, cocaine, were totally unregulated and recommended uninhibitedly by doctors for a wide assortment of sicknesses. Canada’s Drug of Choice: Marijuana      Contrary to mainstream thinking the pace of unlawful medication use is quite the decrease. The most generally utilized medication in Canada is Marijuana. As indicated by the 2004 Canadian Addiction Survey, 44.5% of Canadians reviewed said that that pre-owned pot at any rate once in their lifetime.14.1% revealed that they have utilized weed in the previous a year. Those people that have utilized in the previous year differs incredibly, with 20.8% not having utilized at all in the previous 3 months, while 204.9% asserting that they have utilized just a single time in the previous 3 months. 16% detailed that they utilized month to month, 20.3% was week after week, with just 18.1% answering to utilize day by day. The territory with the most elevated use is British Columbia with a normal that is altogether higher than the national level, at 52.1%. English Columbia additionally has the most elevated past year use contrasted with the national normal at 16.8%.      As with liquor, men (50.1%) are more probable than their female partners (39.2%) to have utilized cannabis during their life time. A similar example of men (18.2%) and ladies (10.2%) have utilized weed in the previous year. This is up from 5.7% for men and 2.4% for ladies in 1993, more than multiple times higher for the men and multiple times for the ladies. The more youthful ages, similar to men, are bound to utilize weed, with roughly 70% of those between the ages of 18-24 years of age having tired it in any event once. The most youthful age bunch examined, 15-17 years of age, practically 30% of them utilized cannabis in the previous year, topping at 47% with the age group18 and multi year olds. After this point use inside the previous year will in general decrease with just 10% of the populace studied asserting they despite everything use weed.

Use Of Animals In Genetic Engineering - Free Essay Example

Genetic diseases shackle the lives of millions of people every day. The last few decades yielded the breakthrough technology needed to eradicate these crippling diseases. Animals possess the innate ability to model diseases in a similar fashion as humans, allowing scientists to research and find cures for genetic diseases without experimenting on humans. Genetically engineering animals warrants advancement because of its ability to help cure diseases impacted by genetics regardless of the ethical problems involved. Genetically manipulating animals to benefit genetically impacted disease research precipitates a wealth of benefits to mankind and impacts countless lives for the better. In the past an aspect of risk presided in the practice of genetic engineering, but recent technological advancements nullify this concern. Popular media covers animal testing and experimentation within the realm of genome manipulation as headlining news; however, the actual results that come from the research garner less attention and need to be shared more often. If more people knew about the benefits, their development of appreciation and understanding concerning the importance of animal genome engineering would increase. Very often ethical arguments overshadow the obvious assets; yet, clear, rational deliberation proves these arguments petty and ignora nt.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Research and treatment development of genetically impacted diseases amasses billions of dollars toward research every year, proving its importance. Genetic disease diagnosis rates increase with an aging population; therefore, with life expectancy trending upwards, diseases will continually burden the economy and personal interests (Mintzer). Dementia becomes more prevalent as people age. A study by the Alzheimers Association concludes the overall cost of dementia will rise above $20 trillion by 2052 (Yang 1661). That by itself deserves recognition capable of changing peoples minds on the subject.   Another popular disease affected by genetics is breast cancer caused by a gene mutation. At age 70, people with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutations exhibit a 45-65% chance of developing breast cancer.(Inherited Gene Mutations). The lifetime chance of others without the gene developing breast cancer resides near seven percent. Capri and Russo outlined the average cost of breast cancer per person in the first two years following diagnosis. This study included 12,580 patients and concluded that the average cost reached about $12,500 (Capri). Hundreds of thousands of people wasting $12,500 every year on a nearly preventable health issue merits consideration about why groups advocate against using the quickest route towards a cure. Growing old puts people at risk for developing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis as well. Diagnosis of this disease most commonly occurs from forty to seventy years of age. Sufferers die within two to five years after diagnosis in the majority of cases. Experts from multiple hospitals and medical colleges released a study in 2015 outlining the socioeconomic impact of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. Monetary spending gets seperated into groupings based on the stage of the disease and then divides into patient or government spending. All findings correlate with cost per month. Second stage ALS requires $5181, third stage $7089, and the final stage $10557 per month. Averaging the stages together culminates in an average of $7902. The government paid twenty seven point six percent of the total, w hile the patient paid the other seventy two point four percent (Oh 206). Based off these results a full years expenditure lands at $94824. Assuming the patient lives an average life of three years after diagnosis, the total then becomes $284472. In that scenario the government spends $78514. Since around five thousand people get diagnosed with ALS every year in the United States of America, a generally accepted number of sufferers at any given time in the US equates to twenty thousand. Twenty thousand patients costing $94824 each amounts to $1,896,480,000 of treatment each year in the United States alone. Introducing such an amount of money into schooling or the community instead of medical institutions creates new beneficial opportunities for everyone. Diseases that affect people starting at birth also cause social and economic stress. Delving into specific diseases reveals shocking information. Monetary tolls cannot be avoided without the patient suffering and dying, as seen in cystic fibrosis victims. Money spent on cystic fibrosis gets divided into two branches according to a study set in the United Kingdom. Direct healthcare and indirect costs assume the roles of the separate branches. Direct healthcare includes caregiver wages, medications, hospital visits, and primary doctor appointments. Productivity loss in terms of retracted work availability topped the list of most prominent factors accounting for indirect costs. The total estimated annual expenditure per each cystic fibrosis inflicted patient converged at about fifty-thousand US dollars. Median costs differentiated by over fifteen thousand US dollars between adults and children (Angelis). Haemophilia, an inherited blood clotting disorder, requires a high economic price t ag throughout a patients life. Treatment costs for older adults nearly reached three hundred thousand dollars. The recommended medical treatment, prophylaxis, actually generates a more expensive plan than alternative regiments, possibly increasing patient expenditure by over one hundred thousand dollars (Shrestha 271). Complete lifetime earnings of an average American is around one million dollars, so the price tag on haemophilia treatment drastically impacts all middle-to-low class families and workers required to make the payments. Disregarding money, genetic based disabilities lower the life expectancy of the affected patient. The death of patients with Huntingtons Disease typically comes within thirty years of diagnosis (Huntingtons Disease). Likewise, down syndrome lowers life expectancy down to 60 years (Facts About Down Syndrome). Children harboring a mutation in the Hex-A gene become afflicted with Tay Sachs disease. Tay Sachs progressively damages the nervous system until the patients end up unable to crawl, walk, or even sit up. Death usually occurs by the age of five (Learning About Tay-Sachs Disease). The outlook on people with cystic fibrosis culminates to a life expectancy of only thirty-seven years with regard to those who survived into adulthood (Cystic Fibrosis: MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia). Those affected by the Niemann-Pick Type A disease die in infancy, while Type C patients live to adulthood in rare cases (Niemann-Pick Disease). The accepted life expectancy worldwide drastically deviates from these stats as it ranges from seventy-five to eighty years. Ignoring statistics such as ones previously stated based on personal complaints baffles those thinking logically. Genetically modifying animals provides the means of extinguishing the negative effects from numerous popular diseases, and the tools experts use currently elicit the necessity of its own use.   New technology ensures the safety of genetic engineering. The most groundbreaking advancement in this field, CRISPR-Cas9, also known as clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats, replicates a technique bacteria neutralize viruses with. A protein snips off RNA from the invading virus and then incorporates that into its own DNA. The bacterium recognizes similar viruses in the future and produces proteins based off of the incorporated RNA to attack the viruses and render them useless (How Does Gene Therapy Work). The Cas-9 protein cuts DNA in the area that matches with the RNA sequence guiding it. Engineering this function to work in human cells garners little difficulty. RNA that matches its nucleotides with a specific mutated gene gets implanted into the Cas-9 protein and doctors insert the protein into human cells. Once the protein dislodges the incorrect nucleotide sequence from the original gene, the cells natural repairative qualities pair up correct nucleotides in its place. Gene editing technology continually becomes safer for humans as well as animals. The invention of Zinc Finger Nuclease, or ZFN, gene editing technology occured over ten years before the invention of CRISPR-Cas9 technology. ZFN carried the possibility of an incorrect target, unlike CRISPR-Cas9, and the United States regulatory authorities deemed ZFN allowable for human clinical trials.(Fernandez). CRISPR technology lacks the ability to target an incorrect nucleotide sequence and precipitate any unwanted consequences. If ZFN was approved for clinical trials in humans, surely safer and more precise technology requires application in animals for the benefit of genetic disease research (Fernandez 240). Undoubtedly, genetic engineering is the best tool humans possess to research and cure genetic impacted health problems. Selecting the best candidate for testing and manipulation plays an important role in the full process. Non-cavy rodents stipulate the title of the most commonly known lab testee. Hundreds of mutated mice and rat strains exist already. The majority of these strains embody genetic disease mutations, creating an avenue to study its progression. Specific examples of the diseases being modeled include: various forms of cancer, heart disease, hypertension, metabolic and hormonal disorders, diabetes, weight growth factors, osteoporosis, glaucoma, sickle cell, blindness, sensorineural deafness, neurodegenerative disorders, psychiatric disturbances, and birth defects. Searching for someone whose life avoids the influence of any one of the listed diseases promises an exhausting and laborious task. No positives result from the introduction of harmful maladies. Certain mental o r cognitive symptoms present throughout the course of disease habitation fail to appear in mice like they appear in humans, which hinders medical research (Simmons 70). Danielle Simmons, Ph.D states,   One reason that mouse models might not completely mimic human disorders is that mice simply might not be capable of expressing some cognitive human disease symptoms that are apparent to the observer. Species capable of expressing the majority of human cognitive symptoms rarely enter laboratory settings. Primates qualify as one of these species. The largest percent of test-ready simians benefit research on Parkinsons Disease. Parkinsons Disease is one of the most popular neurodegenerative diseases in humans. Blesa brings to light that, Although the complete PD disease process is not yet understood, we have gained a better understanding of its etiology, pathology, and molecular mechanisms, thanks to various animal models. Primates duplicate complex phenotypes shown in humans suffering from Parkinsons. Motor skill delays, cognitive mental impairment, sleep schedule disturbances, and involuntary movements appear in primate models. The necessity of studying those symptoms adds to the case supporting manipulating apes and monkeys. The expert neuroscientist Dr. Javier Blesa supports primate testing in the remark, Only nonhuman primates accurately mimic the motor expression of PD, in our opinion, these are the only animals that are optimal for such studies   mouse models for instance fail to replicate symptomatic manifestation of PD (Blesa 4). In-vitro animal cell experimentation provides an alternative to using live animal models. These models technically contain live animal tissue and cells; however, the cells grow into a small bodily system called an organoid. Quickly assuming all tests should therefore preside in organoid models derives from a lack of information. Greenfield clarifies a similar opinion in the statement, the development and functioning of organs within a greater whole, a physiological system, cannot be replicated without using whole animals (Greenfield 391). Aesculapian breakthroughs develop from the application of screening and modeling selected animals in laboratories throughout the world. Experts employ safe practices to develop therapies and medicines based off engineered species such as mice, primates, and organoids. CRISPR gene editing poses as an important tool in the development of new drugs. This new technology facilitates creation of animals perfectly suited to speed up drug discovery and non-human biomedical trials. For instance, some cancer cells resist the influence of drugs better than others. Cloning these resistant cancer cells in living animals lets scientists search for the genes present in cancer that affect resistance. Drug developers then work to establish drugs capable of bypassing the effects of the genes accredited with resistance (Cully 576). The professional chemist, Derek Lowe, Ph.D, estimates the average cost of bringing a new drug to market tips above two billion US dollars (Lowe).   The CRISPR system significantly relieves the economic burden on pharmaceutical companies and government agencies. Drug development using past methods costs more and extends the amount of time needed. Wasting time and money yields only disadvantages, especially concerning the government providing wages, healthcare, and schooling to millions. Many laboratories accomplish successful research discerning genes integral to disease and virus survival. The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute proved that leukemia cells die without the functions spurred by the METTL3 gene. Feng Zhangs laboratory performed the first use of CRISPR on humans cells, reinforcing their professional and respected reputation. That same laboratory works on developing treatment for the BRAF gene mutation observed in multiple forms of cancer. (Almeida). The BRAF V600E mutation presents itself in many types of cancer including colorectal cancer and melanoma (BRAF (V600E) Mutation). When medicine and therapies evolve from the work carried on by Zhangs lab and other labs, they come to market and improve the lives of persons inflicted by the various diseases scientists wish to eradicate. The information and points provided until this mark prove moot without the confrontation of the voices raised in opposition of genetically engineering animals for biomedical gain. The ethical arguments raised are not deserving of lasting recognition or serious consideration. A current controversy regards the number of subjects killed in the process of experimentation employing genetic manipulation. In the past, scientists bred rats in large quantities to produce a smaller amount of rats with the desired allele (Greenfield 388). Genetically engineering rats to exhibit the allele inevitably results in a smaller population. Formulating correct mutations in any animal with perfect precision eliminates the slaughter of inadequate test subjects. Secondly, many animal rights activists claim the living conditions of laboratory animals fall short of humane classification (Schultz-Bergin 850). Blind chickens suffer less anxiety and psychological issues when they cannot see other chickens around them; therefore, blueprinting blind chickens solves the issue of overcrowding. Modifying chicken breeds to not desire parental protection and bonding completely removes the stress and anxiety that regularly irritates mother hens in that specific realm. Also, the dehorning of cattle draws a lot of attention in animal welfare debates, but altering genetic code to develop hornless cattle generates a solution to that problem. Creating a valid argument not solvable by genetic engineering proves a difficult endeavor. Another faceless argument demands animals stay removed from diminishment because it relieves them of their integrity. Diminishing animals does not harm an organism, but simply brings a less biological complex organism into existence. Schultz-Bergin states, an animals dignity consists in the uninhibited development of its species-specific functions. Development of a geneticall y diminished animal creates a new species with its own set of species-specific functions. AMLs, also referred to as animal microcephalic lumps, lack enough brain stem to assume consciousness which consequently makes it impossible to feel pain or experience negative stimuli. Their brain stems provide for nothing except biological growth (Schultz-Bergin 852). Genetic engineering using living, non-human testees grants a gateway towards the cessation of genetically impacted diseases. The extermination of the targeted diseases requires accomplishment to increase of the health of humans worldwide and eliminate the need to pay for treatments. Scientists employing the most recent technology carry out meticulous experiments in a safe manner leading to: innovative drugs, gene screening, and important disease modeling research. Denial of these reasons due to the ethical considerations addressed shows a lack of logic and reason. The pinnacle of genetic engineering still waits far into the future, as inevitable refinements and inventions will bolster the reputation and necessity of this practice. No method exists in the present capable of conquering the abominations that are genetic diseases   better than selective genome composition.

Classic British Essays Of Travel by Francis Bacon

A statesman, scientist, philosopher, and author, Francis Bacon is generally regarded as the first major English essayist. The first edition of his Essayes appeared in 1597, not long after the publication of Montaignes influential Essais.  Editor John Gross has characterized Bacons essays  as masterpieces of rhetoric; their glowing commonplaces have never been surpassed. By 1625, when this version of Of Travel appeared in the third edition of Essayes  or Counsels, Civill and Morall, European travel was already part of the education of many young aristocrats. (See the essay by Owen Felltham also titled Of Travel.) Consider the value of Bacons advice to the present-day traveler:   keep a diary, rely on a guidebook, learn the language, and avoid the company of fellow countrymen. Also notice how Bacon relies on list structures and parallelism to organize a number of his recommendations and examples. Of Travel by Francis Bacon Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder a part of experience. He that travelleth into a country, before he hath some entrance into the language, goeth to school, and not to travel. That young men travel under some tutor or grave servant, I allow well; so that he be such a one that hath the language, and hath been in the country before; whereby he may be able to tell them what things are worthy to be seen in the country where they go, what acquaintances they are to seek, what exercises or discipline the place yieldeth; for else young men shall go hooded, and look abroad little. It is a strange thing, that in sea-voyages, where there is nothing to be seen but sky and sea, men should make diaries; but in land travel, wherein so much is to be observed, for the most part they omit it; as if chance were fitter to be registered than observation: let diaries, therefore, be brought in use. The things to be seen and observed are, the courts of princes, especially when they give audience to ambassadors; the courts of justice, while they sit and hear causes; and so of consistories ecclesiastic [church councils]; the churches and monasteries, with the monuments which are therein extant; the walls and fortifications of cities and towns; and so the havens and harbours, antiquities and ruins, libraries, colleges, disputations, and lectures, where any are; shipping and navies; houses and gardens of state and pleasure, near great cities; armories, arsenals, magazines, exchanges, burses, warehouses, exercises of horsemanship, fencing, training of soldiers, and the like: comedies, such whereunto the better sort of persons do resort; treasuries of jewels and robes; cabinets and rarities; and, to conclude, whatsoever is memorable in the places where they go; after all which the tutors or servants ought to make diligent inquiry. As for triumphs, masks, feasts, weddings, funerals, capital executions, and such shows, men need not to be put in mind of them: yet are they not to be neglected. Overseas travel during Francis Bacons time wasnt something just anyone could do, and without air travel, it wasnt something one did on a lark for a quick vacation, either. It took a lot longer to get somewhere, so once there, you were going to stay a while. In this section he advises travelers to have a tutor in the language or a servant whos been to the place before as a guide. Today this advice still can apply, though you dont have to hire someone to go with you. Maybe you know someone whos been to the country or city before and can give you dos and donts. You can have a travel agent put together an itinerary for you. When you get there, you can hire a local guide or find tours at the local tourism office. Bacons point is to draw on others knowledge of the place before you go, so you dont end up walking around blindfolded (hooded) and not able to fully understand the place while you experience it. Learning any of the local language that you can before you depart only helps you in the daily details of getting from point A to point B and finding the absolute essentials: food and drink, a place to sleep, and lavatory facilities, though Bacon was too genteel to point these items out specifically.   He advises people to keep a journal of what they see and experience, which is good advice as well. Trips last only so long, and memories of the finer details can fade. If you write them down, though, youll be able to re-experience the trip later, through your first-impression eyes. And dont just write down a few things on the way over there and then drop it. Keep it up throughout your trip where youll be seeing new things all the time. See historical buildings where courts of princes or courts of justice took place. See churches, monasteries, monuments, town walls and fortifications, harbors and shipyards, ruins, and colleges and libraries. You might be able to see fencing demonstrations or horse shows, though nowadays youre likely not to run into many capital executions. You can take in plays and attend talks, see artifacts, and do whatever other activities of interest your guide or friend recommended are musts for the place.  Ã‚   If you will have a young man to put his travel into a little room, and in short time to gather much, this you must do: first, as was said, he must have some entrance into the language before he goeth; then he must have such a servant, or tutor, as knoweth the country, as was likewise said: let him carry with him also some card, or book, describing the country where he travelleth, which will be a good key to his inquiry; let him keep also a diary; let him not stay long in one city or town, more or less as the place deserveth, but not long: nay, when he stayeth in one city or town, let him change his lodging from one end and part of the town to another, which is a great adamant of acquaintance; let him sequester himself from the company of his countrymen, and diet in such places where there is good company of the nation where he travelleth: let him, upon his removes from one place to another, procure recommendation to some person of quality residing in the place whither he removeth; th at he may use his favour in those things he desireth to see or know; thus he may abridge his travel with much profit. Besides language tutoring and advice from a friend, Bacon advises that you want a good guidebook to help you get around, which is still perfectly good advice today. He also advises to not spend too long in any one place—not even in the same part of town. Try out different sections. And dont isolate yourself with your traveling group or people from your home country. Interact with the locals. Get advice from residents of the place youre visiting on what to see and do and where to eat. Your travel will be richer for it if follow locals recommendations because youll find places that you might not otherwise have found. Some advice never goes out of style. As for the acquaintance which is to be sought in travel, that which is most of all profitable, is acquaintance with the secretaries and employed men of ambassadors; for so in travelling in one country he shall suck the experience of many: let him also see and visit eminent persons in all kinds, which are of great name abroad, that he may be able to tell how the life agreeth with the fame; for quarrels, they are with care and discretion to be avoided: they are commonly for mistresses, healths, place, and words; and let a man beware how he keepeth company with choleric and quarrelsome persons; for they will engage him into their own quarrels. When a traveller returneth home, let him not leave the countries where he hath travelled altogether behind him; but maintain a correspondence by letters with those of his acquaintance which are of most worth; and let his travel appear rather in his discourse than in his apparel or gesture; and in his discourse, let him be rather advised in his ans wers, than forward to tell stories: and let it appear that he doth not change his country manners for those of foreign parts; but only prick in some flowers of that he hath learned abroad into the customs of his own country. For a 17th century aristocrat, it was probably easier to make acquaintance with ambassadors employees, but they didnt have travel agents or the internet, either, to find out about destinations. Its definitely good advice to be on good behavior while traveling, though.  Ã‚   Upon your return, as Bacon points out, your friends arent going to want to hear you go on and on ad nauseam about your trip. Neither should you discard your previous way of life and completely adopt the customs of the place youve just returned from. But definitely do learn from your experience and incorporate knowledge and practices that youve picked up to make your life better—at home.

William Blake in Contrast of Songs of Innocence and of...

EN 222-Intro to British Lit. II April 21, 2012 William Blake in contrast of Songs of Innocence and of Experience William Blake, an engraver, exemplified his passion for children through his many poems. Blake lived in London most of his life and many fellow literati viewed him as eccentric. He claimed to have interactions with angels and prophets, which had a great influence on his outlook of life. Blake believed all prominent entities, those being church, state, and government had become sick with greed and hatred; and Christianity had somehow failed. According to Jeffery Bell in Industrialization and Imperialism, 1800 – 1914 â€Å"Blake’s simple language and use of vernacular spoke to the rebellion against established order and authority.†¦show more content†¦This poem implies that it could possibly be Satan. The â€Å"distant deeps† and â€Å"burnt the fire of thine eyes† suggest its creation in hell. The mystery behind Blake’s poem is left to the interpretation of the reader. Another poem from Songs of Experience is Infant Sorrow. This poem repre sents childbirth, and the pain associated with it. In addition, it signifies the uncertainty the child feels entering into unknown surroundings. The baby is swaddled and placed into the arms of what he feels is a stranger (his father) and laid upon his mother’s breast to sooth him. Blake’s analysis of childbirth allows the reader to experience the possible perspective of an infant as it enters the world. Blake’s unique way of writing challenges his readers to analyze each poem wondering if their interpretations are correct. Finally, years later, Blake wrote another rendition of The Chimney Sweeper. This time the child is considered experienced. The child, no longer innocent, understands his hopeless situation. He realizes his parents have purposely surrendered him to a life of despair. The child speaks the truth without any dreams or thoughts of rescue. Blake depicts the child’s senseless pain and suffering, in hopes of helping to eradicate child labor. M ost of these poems mentioned from the Songs of Experience, are free from imaginary dreams and happy endings. Question: Discuss about the Japanese Investment in World Economy. Answer: Introduction The present report is developed for providing an analysis of the organizational changes in the Sony Corporation responsible for its preset growth and success. This has been carried out through analyzing the case study of Sony Corporation that has highlighted the strategies adopted by the Sony for overcoming its declining profitability. The case study has provided an analysis of the performance of the company since the few past years in order to provide an evaluation of its decisions. The report has provided an evaluation of the decisions that the company has taken for improving its growth and profitability. Sony Corporation, a leading Japanese multinational electronics company, has diversified business including electronics, entertainment and financial services since its establishment. The company since its establishment has undergone various structural changes for improving its financial performance. The company attained an international recognition for its electronic products soon after its establishment in the year 1971 (Farrell, 2008). However, its financial performance suffered a setback in the consecutive years due to the impact of foreign exchange rates and increasing competition in the global marketplace. The companys financial performance has been declining over the past few years. The company has recorded an operating loss from the period 2010-2012 due to degrading performance of its business segments such as consumer products and services and professional devices and solutions. The increasing competition from the global competitors such as Samsung, Canon and LG further impact ed negatively its sales in the international market. The company recorded an operating loss of about 456.7 billion in the year 2012 with a significant increase in the capital expenditure to about 295.1 billion (Sony Corporation, 2012). The main reason for the declining sales of the company was attributed to its existing organizational structure. The company was operating is several business segments and thus lost focus on its major segments. The company operates in various divisions that are entertainment, insurance and chip manufacturing. The major operations of the company are focused on the electronic products such as audio and video equipments, radio, television and many others. As such, the company is presently focusing on transforming its organizational structure for overcoming its present business challenges. The CEO of the company has introduced a new management structure One Sony in the year 2012 for reinforcing and integrating its overall business structure. This is done mainly to succeed in the global competitive marketplace by focusing on the companys core competencies and strengths. The company is estimated to record an increase in the revenue by 5.2% on an annual basis with the transformation of its o rganizational structure (Sony Corporation, 2012). The company was believed to have a downfall in its financial performance due to its diversified organizational structure with several business segments having their own mission and vision statement. Also, the negative impact of foreign exchange rates after the downturn experienced by the economy of Japan due to Earthquake and floods in the year 2011 has also impacted its performance to a large extent. The company with its existing organizational structure is not able to focus on a major business segment. The increasing competition in the external marketplace also had resulted in reducing the sales and income generation of the company. The CEO of Sony Corporation in order to overcome from the existing challenges has implemented new structural changes in its business segments for improving its competitive position and overcoming from the operating losses. The new organizational structure introduced by the management One Sony focuses on reinforcing its diverse business segments so that it can devise strategies for improving the performance of its major business units (SonyCorporation, 2012). The strategic shift of the company is intended to integrate its operational activities so that it can focus on its core capabilities and competencies. The reorganization of the company structure is believed to achieve the satisfaction of the customers through emphasising on electronic products market and thus securing its competitive image (George, Frynas and Mellahi, 2015). The company has also announced a strategic plan in the year 2012 for overcoming its present business challenges as follows: To strengthen its core business in the area of electronics products To undertake expansion in the emerging markets To create new business through introducing innovative products As per this strategic plan, the company has strategically transformed its business segments into mainly digital imaging, game and mobile. There will be a single management team working together with the heads of each business unit and developing the overall financial, corporate and business strategies. These strategic initiatives of the company were aimed to strengthen its brand image in the international market through driving its growth and profitability. As analyzed from the consolidated financial statements of the Sony Corporation given in the case study, the strategic initiatives have not helped in improving its financial performance. The company had succeeded in reducing its operational cost and expenditure from the year 2010-2012 as depicted in its consolidated statement of income. The cost and expenses has reduced from 7,151,991 million to 6,438,790 from the year 2010-2012. However, there is no significant increase in the sales and operating revenue in the year 2012 with the adoption of the strategic changes as depicted from its income statement. The sales and operating revenue has decreased from 7,213,998 million to 6,493,212 from the period 2010-2012. This is mainly due to the increase in the income taxes levied on the company in the year 2016 and also due to reduction its operating income realized from other business activities (Sony Corporation, 2012). The strategic change in the financial performance of the company over the year 2010-2012 can be evaluated through the use of ratio analysis. The ratio analysis will help in analyzing the profitability and liquidity realized by the company after the adoption of the strategic changes in the year 2012 as follows: Profitability Analysis: The profitability analysis of the company can be done through the evaluation of the net profit ratio. The net profit ratio examines the profitability realized by the company after meeting all its operating expenses such as taxes. The formula for calculating the net profit ratio can be stated as follows: Net Profit Ratio=Profit after tax/Sales Net Profit Ratio= -456,660.00/ 6,493,212.00 Net Profit Ratio= -7.03% Liquidity Analysis: The liquidity analysis of the company predicts its ability to meet its financial obligations through maintaining appropriate cash balance. It can be analyzed through the calculation of the current ratio. The current ratio measures the ability of a company to meet its short and long term obligations by providing an assessment of its current assets with that of its current liabilities. The current ratio of the company for the year 2012 can be calculated as: Current Ratio=Current Assets/Current Liabilities Current Ratio=3,754,962/4,529,981 Current Ratio=0.82 The ratio for the year 2011 can be calculated as follows: Current Ratio=3,844,046/4,135,299 Current Ratio=0.92 Therefore, it can be said from the ratio analysis of the company that its profitability and liquidity position has not improved even after the implementation of the strategic initiatives of organization restructure. On the contrary, the financial performance has further declined and therefore it can be said that the strategic actions taken by the management of the company has not proved to be successful (Sony Corporation, 2012). The competitor analysis of the company undertaken can also be depicted as follows: Profitability ratios of year 2012 Particulars Sony Apple Microsoft Revenue 6,493,212.00 $ 156,508.00 $ 73,723.00 Net Profit -456,660.00 $ 41,733.00 $ 16,978.00 Net Profit Ratio -7.03% 26.67% 23.03% It has been illustrated from the competitor analysis that the profitability of Sony Corporation has still not increased even after its restructuring in comparison to its competitors such as Apple and Microsoft. The company has still reported an operating loss while its competitors are achieving increasing profits in the electronic markets on a global level. The main reason for the failure of the strategic actions of the company can be its late implementation of the latest technologies for the manufacturing of the electronics products. The competitors have strengthened their brand image in the marketplace by providing innovative features in their electronics products. The Sony Corporation still lacks on technological platform from its competitors due to its poor performance in the past years as a result of economic downturn. The electronics market has reached an oversaturated position and therefore the company need to implement some long-term growth strategies in addition to restructu ring so that it can attain success in the future context (Sony Corporation, 2012). Conclusion Thus, it can be said from the overall analysis of the case study that strategic changes adopted by the Sony Corporation in the year 2012 has not proved to be successful in improving its financial growth. Therefore, it should develop some innovative growth strategies to survive in the highly competitive global electronics marketplace. References Farrell, R. 2008. To Kill a Mockingbird The killing of Tim Johnson Essay Example For Students

To Kill a Mockingbird: The killing of Tim Johnson Essay The passage of the Atticuss killing of the rabid dog is a very significant one in the thematic sense of the novel. Tim Johnson could be viewed as representing the prejudice in the novel, and how like a rabid dog it spreads through the Deep South. Atticus is clearly the saviour, the hero of the novel trying to kill and destroy all form of prejudice and racism in Maycomb, although this is very idealistic. However, in the case of the infected animal, Atticus proves Scout wrong and shows that he can achieve what he has to in this particular situation, although this is unfortunately not always the case in the novel. We will write a custom essay on To Kill a Mockingbird: The killing of Tim Johnson specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The passage is also very effective in the sense of excitement, suspense and meaningfulness of the relationships between the different characters of the novel. This extract from Harper Lees To Kill a Mockingbird can indeed be related to several others in the book. Firstly, to the climax of the novel, the outcome of the court case when the jury announces that Tom Robinson has been committed guilty. Harper Lee compares the two passages herself during the trial through the narration of Scout, who seems to realise that the two moments in her life contain the same sort of suspenseful atmosphere, to kill a mockingbird mad dog. Both of the extracts are life-changing times for Scout concerning her personal point of view on life. Scout considers her father an old man too frail and incapable of anything more than sitting around and reading. He is older than her peers parents and does not participate in some of their more active occupations such as playing football He has never mentioned anything to his children concerning the fact that he has perfect aim with a gun, in fact he has probably never touched a gun in their presence. Therefore Atticuss shooting of Tim Johnson is a discovery to Jem and Scout as a new aspect to their father of which they are proud. Scout and Jem, in particular Scout who is younger and more affected by prejudice, have been going through a hard time at school ever since Atticus agreed to defend Tom Robinson in court. The shooting of the rabid dog is an event that will go round a small town like Maycomb quickly, probably giving some people a more respectful view of Atticus and his family. Atticus dislikes handling a gun as it gives him an unfair advantage over all living things. That is, nature is fair in what it has given all beings and using a tool like a gun to kill with allows him special privileges which nature never intended for him to use. Nature seems to have its own law which states that humans should not take advantage of their knowledge of machines and weapons in order to shoot animals, who have no such advantage. However, in the name of public safety Atticus is willing to put this moral aside to achieve a higher goal: the protection of human life. Again, this shows how a law, such as natures law or even a personal law such as Atticuss avoidance of guns, must sometime be bent towards a higher aim. It is his role to stand, defender of all people, and this is not the only time when he finds himself in this sort of position. This gives him the capability of making everyone equal, regardless of ethnicity and social stature. The dog is viewed by the whole of Maycomb as a dangerous, deadly menace and concerns all the inhabitants of the community, white and black. It therefore unites the whole town in a feeling of fear and disgust, making all people equal in fear for just one moment. Even the Radleys, the outcasts of Maycomb, have to be warned of the incident by the shouts of Calpurnia. .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 , .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .postImageUrl , .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 , .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93:hover , .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93:visited , .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93:active { border:0!important; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93:active , .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93 .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u137525658e4ac13d0d6ed476f3772e93:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Biography Malcolm X EssayThe dog itself is also prejudiced against, and although all the town people consider that they have a reason to despise the creature, the white people of the Deep South at the time also think it perfectly normal and correct to hate the black people. This could make the general situation as being seen as parallel. The passage also refers to the quote from which the title of the novel originates. When Scout and Jem receive air rifles, Atticus gives them the advice: Shoot all the Bluejays you want, if you can hitem, but remember its a sin to kill a Mockingbird. The action of shooting is indeed the same, and the victims are all subjects to the same treatment: prejudice along with racism. Harper Lee uses symbolism in this sense. Both of the victims: the Mockingbird and Tim Johnson, could be related to Tom Robinson, Boo Radley or even Atticus who is despised in the town for defending a black victim. All of these characters are victims of the same symbolised issue: persecution. Harper Lees use of style in the novel is very effective, especially in this particular passage. The occasional use of short sentences and exciting vocabulary often increases the atmosphere and feeling of suspense during the shooting of Tim Johnson. However, the language and style of writing used in the passage of the killing of the rabid dog is too strongly related to that of the outcome of the trial of Tom Robinson to ignore. The language used in the passage itself is suspenseful and exciting, and the general atmosphere of the passage is extremely similar to that of the court case. Two creatures lives are at stake: one an animal and one a human related to as an animal. In one, Atticus the saviour succeeds with the use of a gun. Scout claims that the court case was like watching Atticus walk into the street, raise a rifle to his shoulder and pull the trigger, but watching all the time knowing that the gun was empty. During the killing, time seems to slow to a crawl and Harper Lee puts this into literal words: Tim Johnson was advancing at a snails pace, he was being pulled gradually towards us. time had slowed to a nauseating crawl. Everything is slowed, Atticus is taking precautions while Heck Tate is trying to urge him along with not much success, until the actual action of Atticus shooting takes place and everything takes a much quicker pace. However, this works all the same in achieving the atmosphere and feeling of complete suspense and excitement, keeping the reader on the edge of his/her seat while subconsciously knowing what will happen in future. If Atticus was to fail in exterminating the infected animal, disease would spread across Maycomb resulting in the end of the novel whereas there is still quite a lot of the book to go at this point. The passage is very effective in creating the suspenseful atmosphere in itself and also very relevant to the rest of the novel. It hints at elements of racism and prejudice towards persecuted members of such a small community such as Maycomb. However, the passage more prominently demonstrates Atticuss important role throughout the novel and changes Scouts general view of her father, turning him into a sort mentor to her and Jem, who relates to him as a gentleman at the end of the chapter. In this case Atticus succeeds in banishing the fear and reuniting the community. Unfortunately this situation is not likely to reoccur later on in the novel.

A high IQ is often a prerequisite for rising to the top ranks of business today. It is necessary, but it is not adequate to predict executive competence and corporate success. By itself, a high IQ does not guarantee that you will stand out and rise above everyone else. Shockingly, only 15 percent is due to technical knowledge. Goleman tried to unravel how someone who graduates at the top of the class c an spend years hoping for a promotion, whereas someone who barely cracked a book might be that classs top earner. He hypothesized that when it came to predicting success, standard intelligence mattered less than emotional intelligence. Its not what you know, but who you know and how well you get along with them, to borrow an old adage. They do not share the opportunities that are available with the men. The male has had supremacy over the women for a long time. The men are tyrannical in several ways. They include making women submit to laws and at the same time withdraws her rights and the rights given to men who do not deserve. The man deprives the woman rights to representation in legislation. The man makes the woman appear dead in the eyes of law; the woman has no right to property and views her to have a lot of impunity. Cold war Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Cold war - Essay Example This paper will address the cold war topic into details. The cold war was the tension that existed between the Western and Eastern blocs. After, the end of World War II, an English journalist named George Orwell used the term cold war in his essay (Lewis, 2006). As stated above, the cold war was led by the United States, its NATO partners and the Soviet Union together with its satellite associates. Some of the Soviet Republics included Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Eastern Finland, Lithuania and Eastern Romania. These territories were liberated and were transformed into satellite states (Leffler, 2008). The United States was the Western bloc (Western world) while the Soviet Union was known as the Eastern bloc (also communist world) (Tyull & Enright, 2011). The war commenced after the triumph of their wartime coalition against Nazi Germany. This success factor triggered political and economic differences among these two superpowers. The main wary factor in the war period was the introducti on of weapons of mass destruction. Before the war had commenced, the two superpowers fought together as friends during World War II, since; they had one enemy in common (Arne, 2007). The reason behind the naming of the war originates from the fact that the war did not involve direct military action because both sides were in possession of nuclear weapons. This war was caused by several issues. Some of the prevalent issues include Truman’s dislike of Stalin, Russia’s loathe of capitalism, secrets in nuclear power, fear of attack by the United States, need to secure the western border and the aim of spreading communism in the world (Brown, 2011). These among other factors are some of the main causes that led to the rise of the cold war. However, this rivalry was presented through espionage, aid to client countries, rivalry at sport competitions, massive propaganda campaigns, technological contests, military federations and making pleas to neutral nations. One of the most evident expressions of the conflict is the Space Race which was related to technological improvement. These were some of the proxy wars that the Soviet Union fought with the United States (Leffler, 2008). Additionally, both parties sought for a detente so as to relieve the military and political tensions (Arne, 2007). However, in the 1980s, the Western bloc increased their military, economic and diplomatic pressures. This was the period when the Soviet Union faced economic stagnation. According to researchers, the cold war was the first-ever war between the social and economic systems (Tyull & Enright, 2011). In this period, the prime minister of Britain, Winston Churchill felt that the Soviet leader; Joseph Stalin was quite untrustworthy. Stalin was viewed as distrustful after Truman informed him of a new weapon that he was to use against the Japanese. In addition, Stalin knew about the weapon’s power after reports of Hiroshima went back to Moscow. He also asserted that Wor ld War II was an inevitable case of capital imperialism and that the implications of the war reoccurring were exceptionally high. The Soviet Union had a vast army known as the Red Army that was headed by the Zhukov while the United States region were in possession of the atomic bomb which was recognized as the most destructive weapon of mass destruction in the world (Tyull & Enright, 2011). Patton who was one of the leading generals in the Western bloc recommended that the

The Depression of Antonio in Merchant of Venice    In the Merchant of Venice, we see a truly anti-Semitic play by Shakespeare.   However, we also see a tale of money (greed and generosity), love (heterosexual and homosexual), and emotion (joy and sadness).   The play revolves around Bassanio's love for Portia.   Bassanio needs money to play the suitor to Portia in "style".   His friend who loves him, Antonio, agrees to give him the money, but, because all of his money is invested in his merchant ships he must take a loan from the greedy Jew Shylock.   Shylock loans him the money in exchange for a pound of his flesh if he does not pay the loan back on time.   Bassanio wins Portia's hand, but, before they are joined together, Portia will disguise herself in order to win the freedom of Antonio when his ships meet with ruin and he cannot repay Shylock.   Shylock ends up losing half his wealth and must convert before Portia is through with him.   Antonio is a fascinating character study when it comes to psychology because he is such a sad but noble character.   He is world-weary and life's material things do not bring him joy.   He is also confused about his sadness.   As he says in the opening speech of the play, "In sooth, I know not why I an so sad:/It wearies me; you say it wearies you;/But how I caught it, found it, or came by it,/What stuff 'tis made of, whereof it is born, I am to learn;/And such a want-wit sadness makes of me/That I have much ado to know myself" (Shakespeare   203).   Antonio explains he has scattered his investment risks quite adequately, so it is not his "merchandize" that makes him sad.   Yet, he does admit that he feels it is his nature to be sad, as if he has a chemical imbalance that classifies him as cl... ...nificance with those of the Jewish faith who might befriend him, and it gives him a cynical, negative perspective of the culture around him.   However, at the end of the play Antonio does seem to find some small measure of happiness when he comes to understand how much Portia has done on his behalf.   This shows him that his perceptions of her understanding may have been limited because he more than likely did not expect his strongest ally to be the wife of the man he loves, "Sweet lady, you have given me life and living;/For here I read for certain that my ships/Are safely come to road" (Shakespeare   228).   Thus, Antonio could be recommended for therapy because his depression has the potential to be ameliorated with a deeper understanding and acceptance of his thinking regarding life. Detailed explanation of how other businesses support the retail sector P2 Essay

There are many different businesses that help in the retail sector to keep the business going and running efficiently and without these businesses it would be extremely hard if not impossible to get a business off the ground or even keep one running. Opening a sports shop in Manchester To begin with we need a place for all the money to go so that we can keep track of incoming and outgoing money so we need a business account with a bank. A bank is a business that provides a place for you to hold your money securely and also providing a way to track and manage your money and accounts making it easier for you to manage your taxes sales and expenditures and having an account you need someone to manage these for you so you would need an accountant there are businesses that can provide you with an accountant or accountants that will work for you they manage your accounts balancing your sales, expenditures and your taxes giving you more time to work on other areas of the business. A lot of business is now done on computers or if it’s a shop on tills so this requires a place for you to get your computers, tills or other hardware needed to run the store being a sports shop we will be using tills for the sales of products, computers for managing accounts and emailing, printers for making bank notes, receipts and bills and telephones for making calls to make sales and orders so we will need a phone company to provide us with a phone line and an account with them for phone usage, an internet provider to give us an internet connection so that we can send e-mails, check accounts online, make a website to advertise and even sell our goods on which will require a web designer who will make the website and manage it for us. We also need electronics stores that could sell us the computers, telephones and printers. Tills are a specialist item to buy so you will need to find a company that will provide and perform the necessary upkeep on them and we also need I.T specialists who can provide us with the software and management of the software for the tills and computers. We also need to find a supplier to provide us with the sportswear and sporting goods for us to sell a supplier is a company that usually make the goods themselves or buy it from the manufacturers and sell everything in bulk for a cheap price and then you sell the goods on for a profit, so they are two more businesses that can help us manufacturers and  suppliers without these businesses we would struggle to get the goods we need to sell. Then we need logistics companies to transport these goods to us and even from us to the customers, we might also need a place to store our goods so we will need warehousing and possibly security services to make it safe to store the goods so you might look into security companies/businesses that will manage the shops and warehouses. We also have accidents at work in stores and possible needs for legal action so we could do with lawyers/solicitors so finding a law firm that can help is also a good thing to be aware of. When you have problems with the buildings that you are using for your business activities you will need trades people to fix any issues you may be having i.e. Say your plumbing is leaking or toilet facilities or malfunctioning you will need to find a plumber to come and fix the problems you are having, if you need lighting or sockets or general electrical work doing you will need an electrician, if you are building a new building you will need architects, brick layers, window fitters, roofers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, landscapers and possibly more to make your new building. If you want to expand your business and help it grow but you haven’t got the money for it straight away you might consider looking for investors who will give you the money upfront for your business venture for a percentage of the company profits. We also have accidents and tragedies that happen and could cause problems or losses within a company and for these times you can also get insurance from an insurance company who will help you and even pay for any issues that need to be fixed and solved. So to sum it all up there are many businesses that we need to make a business and to keep a business running and without these different businesses there would be no retail and no business.

Teaching Children the Arts and Humanities Jenry Martin PHI103: Informal Logic Instructor: Stephen Krogh March 7, 2016 Ashford University My research is about the importance of teaching humanities and arts to kids. Humanities and art can provide understanding to children opening their minds and after my research, I can say I am in favor that children learn in early ages humanities and art. In this paper, I will provide both examples why kids should study them and why not. I will explain how do humanities and art help them to develop their intelligence and how could not be so beneficially for them as well. Even though some people say that art classes are a drain on the economy and art educations are considered a distraction and that art classes do not give children more development in their grades, my research will talk about the importance of teaching humanities and arts to kids. I will show first the good part of teaching at and humanities to kids: Premise 1: Humanities class gives kids sense about where they come from. Premise 2: Humanities helps kid to develop skills they need to grow up. Premise 3: Art relaxes your mind. Premise 4: Art helps kids to express their emotions. Conclusion: therefore children should be taught humanities I found that my argument is intended to be deductive, and, later on, I will put a counterargument to explain it: My first premise shows that humanities help the kids to learn history.
